Don’t Call it Old School.

A shot that resulted from me walking around one night looking for something to shoot. For some reason, I left my dslr at home and went old school with a roll of p3200, and hand processed it with a 2-part developer.
Look Up.

Anyone who spends a good deal of time in San Francisco, invariably wonders about all those lines that cut across the sky. Our city is blanketed with telephone lines and Muni cables. On any given day, we can waver between seeing these lines as trespassers, to accepting them as apart of the city’s aesthetic. On days such as the latter, I took these photos. Enjoy…or not, whatever.

One night at a lounge/club/bar/whatever, in downtown SF, I caught my friends set and happened to have my camera with me. I found the happenstance to be an excerise in low light exposure without a flash. Remembering my wedding photographer days, I found myself relying on the flash less and less during the receptions; which are usually in lighting conditions similar to any club or venue. At the time began to experiment because the aesthetic conventionally achieved by flash photography, in such situations, gets old. You will be surprised what you can do when you take a chance and turn that computerized flashlight off.
“Let go Luke, use the force.” Obi Wan. sorry, I couldn’t help it.
Thanks to Dj Franchise for letting me shoot. A talented dj with that knows how to stand out in crowd. Catch him @ Sugar Lounge next Sat.Jan26th.
That blue sky will be back soon.

At the onset of the San Francisco’s rainy season, I wanted to post an image to help get us through these dull grey days.
